This is the story of Manchester as told by its famous Worker Bees.
During the industrial revolution Manchester gained a reputation as a 'hive of industry' as the city lead the way in the development of new forms of mass production. When Manchester was granted a coat of arms in 1842, 7 worker bees were included, giving rise to the Mancunian Worker Bee as depicted here by Tom Brown and his wonderful pieces of ceramic art.
